Date Night, Chuck E Cheese & A New Church: Our Weekend in Review

{Oh the joys of having an older sister ... dress-up at it's finest!}

What a weekend! M was off this weekend -- and actually is off, again all this week. Friday morning we found ourselves meeting up in town for a quick breakfast out with M, and then ran to town for a few errands and a haircut for M. That night, M and I were able to get out for a dinner date at Olive Garden! It's been so long since we've been there, so it was a nice treat! And like every other date night lately, I got sangria. It's sort of becoming the date night "thing"!

Saturday the kids had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese to go to. Of course, the party was right AT naptime, so ours didn't get their rest. They had a blast playing games with their friends, chowing down on pizza and some delicious cake. And were surprisingly well, considering the sugar high and the lack of sleep, all afternoon. M took off for the evening to hang out some friends while they got tattooed, and the kids and I spent the night cleaning house. However, come bedtime, it was a complete nightmare. L was just so overtired, he fought sleep. All night long. I'm pretty sure I got 3 hours of sleep, and cried more than one due to frustration.

Sunday morning we got up {those of us who were sleeping, anyways} and headed out of town to check out a new church that our family members attend. It was nice seeing everyone, and a nice atmosphere, as well. A good change of pace. We got home right at naptime, and safe to say -- all 4 of us passed out. The only thing that would have made it better? If we were all cuddled up in a king sized bed snuggling and sleeping.

Date night. Birthday party fun. A lack of sleep. And a good church experience. Definitely a good weekend in our book.

How was your weekend? Did you spend it out and about? Or curled up, watching the Olympics?

  1. Aside from the sleep issues, sounds like a wonderful weekend!! We've never been to Chuck E Cheese, but I'm thinking we might go there for V's birthday this year. Yayyy for date night! I miss Olive Garden!
