In Our House, The Monkeys Don't Jump, They Climb
It happened last night. Finally. Not that I was looking forward to it, really. Quite the opposite, actually. But it seems to be par for the course in most households. And I knew it really was only a matter of time before it happened around here, too. I put L to bed, and although he wasn't happy, and started his fussing off and on for a few minutes, I was okay to let him just fuss and talk, and talk and fuss. I had checked on him once and calmed him down and he was okay. And then, over the monitor, I heard a loud thump, followed by crying. I don't think I've run down the hall that fast ever. Sure enough, that little monkey had tried to climb out of the crib, and fallen on the floor. By the time I got in there, he was up and walking toward the door to get me, crying because he was scared, of course. It didn't take long to calm him down, and he went back to bed without any issues. But it looks like today, we're going to have to lower his bed. Before he pulls this stunt again and finds himself hurt! And within the next few months, we'll be switching the kids beds, giving L the toddler bed and S a full-sized bed. Boys!
