Weekend Recap

Good Monday Morning!!

Hope you had a nice weekend! Ours was .... well, it was pretty uneventful.

Friday, for the first time in over a week, the sun managed to come out ... not for long, but long enough that the kids and I were able to get outside and enjoy a little bit.

We went for a walk, collected some leaves to press with wax paper {which we still need to do this week ...} and played in the backyard for awhile. S even tried to work with her brother on how to ride his tricycle.

Saturday, the sun was gone, again.

We ran a few morning errands, and then the kids and I headed to town to play at McDonalds {and hopefully get out some of their pent up energy} before having lunch at a friend's house. S chose that day to be a little ... distant ... while playing, and didn't really want to get involved with any of the other kids there. So she spent a bunch of her time trying to sit with me. I kept reminding her that we could just sit on the couch together at home -- and if that was all she wanted to do, we were going to leave.

She surprisingly obliged! So we grabbed some chicken nuggets for the kids, and left to go to our friend's house. He had snagged a deer and was cooking up some back strap -- our favorite! So we enjoyed a good lunch and some pumpkin pie for dessert, the kids enjoyed playing with their friend, and then we came home for a nap while M went out hunting.

Sunday was standard -- church and playtime at home. It was nice, once again, and sunny. So we took the kids for a walk, enjoyed some time running around outside, and all napped good.

We may not have done a whole lot -- but at least we got in some fresh air! Can't complain about that!

Last week's goals?! Major fail! Out of the five, I managed to read a chapter in my book. And sadly, that was mostly because the chapter I was on ... was only 3 pages! I've since started an additional 2 books -- and refuse to give up on the original one -- in hopes of getting sucked back into reading.

This week's goals are:

1. Stick with The Purpose Drive Life and make sure to read it every day.
2. Mail out a few packages.
3. Take the kids on a play-date with friends.
4. Paint our pumpkins -- and decorate them with the felt faces we bought.
5. Bake some brownies ... and maybe even a peanut butter pie.

We've been on a big pie kick lately ... first Tollhouse pie, then Apple pie ... now peanut butter pie. And I really want some sweet potato pie, too. Its such a good time of year for all things Pie!

What are your goals for this week?
How do you re-focus yourself after a particularly unaccomplished week?

  4. Awesome weekend!! Glad you were able to get out for a little bit. I really really dislike those weeks where the sun doesn't come out much.
