5 for Five

Its Monday -- and I'm actually looking forward to this week. It's M.'s last week working at his current institution before he moves to his new position [still within the same employer] and better hours. Which should mean only three more 12 hour shifts stand between us and the first taste of normalcy, work related, since we got married 5 years ago. I cannot wait!

So it's that time, again!

Last week's goals:

1. Invite our friends over for a good meal and conversation: Thursday afternoon, I made my lasagna sauce and prepped a homemade lasagna for dinner Friday. And Friday evening, our friends came over. It had been awhile since we had hung out with them [outside of M.'s work] -- and they kept asking for more lasagna! Conversation with adults?! I couldn't have been happier. And the kids love them -- so what more could we ask for!

2. Put all of the items for the sale in the spare closet, and the totes back outside: Check and Check! I've even managed to go through some stuff in S.'s closet that I need to include in the sale. I know there is some more stuff in there I could potentially get rid of, and some stuff in L.'s closet as well. It's coming along!

3. Finally call about getting Trash Pick Up: Nope -- didn't happen. No excuse, other than that I was too lazy, or kept forgetting. Grrrrr.

4. Read a chapter a day Monday through Friday: Again, didn't happen. Sadly, its because Im just not that into this book. I think I need to find something else to read and while I'm reading this other book, just peck away a chapter at a time on 50 Shades. Maybe keep the kindle in the bathroom or something ...

5. Spend one evening with M. completely computer-free: This was easy!! Tuesday evening, we sat down, sans computer and cell phones, and watched our DVR'd episode of Hawaii Five-O. Talked the whole time and just enjoyed each other. We need to make it a priority to do at least once a week!

3 out of 5? It could be worse.

This weeks goals are:

1. Finish getting EVERYTHING together in one location for the consignment sale. Find enough clothes hangers for all the clothes that are being sold. Print off the sale tags. And buy more cable ties to attach them.:  Pretty self explanatory.

2. Spend another evening with M. technology-free: We need to do this once a week, and getting into the habit of it, since we have no real date nights outside the house right now!

3. Start a new book: I was enjoying reading a lot, and have a goal set for 12 books this year. Which is BEYOND doable, especially considering I've already finished 3. But this 50 Shades has just got me in a stalemate. Time to find something else to get me hooked.

4. Look at a new laptop. Fill out the deferment form for my student loans. Have M. call about trash pick up. Check out the thrift store in Smithfield: All little things that can be done in a matter of an afternoon ... but they all need to be done. So I'll just go ahead and lump them all together!

5. Wean L. from his middle of the night feedings: Well ... at least get him down to maybe a feeding at 12am and another at 4am. He needs to be completely weaned by the time we leave on our cruise -- which is coming up at the end of April. So far, he is doing really well with going all day without nursing. It takes a day or two for him to adjust but he's figuring it out. I'm just really tired of getting up sometimes every hour or two to nurse him at night because he has such a horrible sleep pattern. WHY cant this little guy figure out how to sleep!?!!

What are your goals this week? And remember to head over and link up with Jessica and Jenn!

  1. "Unplugging" is the best, isn't it?! I love days when I'm completely away from technology!
