The End Is In Sight

As we were driving to Topsail Island today, Daddy got a phonecall.

The call we've been expecting for going on two years now!

The findings are in from his medical review. They couldn't tell him anything over the phone -- so he has a meeting with them at 1000 Monday morning to find out what's going on. They will let him know what is happening medically, how much of a settlement the Marine Corps will be giving him, what percentage disability the VA has rated him at, and how much longer he will be in.

He is hoping to put in for home awaiting orders, come back here, look for a job, and take a week or so to go back to Maine to visit with my family while we still can.

And then its back to the civilian world. In the two years we've been married, we really haven't ever lived under the same roof for more than a few days at a time. These past 15 days of leave was one of the longest stretches he's been home ever!

He's nervous, and a little worried. So its time for me to put my game face on. I need to stay positive and optimistic for both of us. I need to be the strong one.

More on Monday after we find out what's going to happen to us!
