Christmas Tag!

I was tagged by one of my good blogging buddies, Alex of Munchkins and the Military, for a little game of Christmas Tag. Essentially, Alex tagged 10 friends to answer 10 questions about Christmas. Each person tagged answers the questions, as well, and tags more of their friends!

1. What do you love most about Christmas time?

The festive spirit -- unless you are around a total scrooge, everyone seems to be in such a happy mood this time of year. The lights. The music. The family around -- there's really nothing better!

2.  Do you celebrate the holiday in style or is Bah-Humbug for you?

I'm all about celebrating the holiday and try to do as much as we can. Getting to a bunch of local events, driving around to see everyone's lights and decorations, decorating our own house and tree. Baking cookies. Christmas Eve service at church. We love this holiday ... and every year, we try to make my husband love it, too! He's our resident Scrooge!

3.       Are you leaving anything out for Santa Claus this year so he remembers to leave your presents?

Of course! Last year, we had made a bunch of homemade cookies, but they got eaten too fast and there weren't any left come Christmas Eve, so my husband got some cookies from the Subway down the road at the last minute. My daughter thought that was the coolest thing ever and that Santa would LOVE them, so we might make that a tradition this year, not sure!

4.       What is the one gift you are most looking forward to GIVING? {It can be to your kids, another family member, etc – remember to be discreet if they read your blog!}

I think my daughter's Sofia the First Dress up clothes -- granted, its coming from Santa, so that jolly guy is going to get all credit, but just seeing how excited she is going to get will make it all worth it! She's the only kid I know who asks Santa for clothes {and some Sofia stuff ... so we combined it!}.

5.       What is your all-time favorite Christmas movie?

6.       What is your all-time favorite Christmas song?

7.       If given the opportunity would you participate in an “Ugly Sweater” party and what sweater would you wear?  Peruse one on the internet or even in your own closet and show us!

I've never been to one -- but seriously, how funny is this fad?! There are some seriously ugly sweaters out there, store bought AND homemade ... but I'm all about the funny ones. And some of the adult ones. Sorry kids, you won't be invited to this party! *wink wink*

8.       Have you started any Christmas traditions this year that you plan on carrying forward?

We started our Santa Mail advent this year ... and I'm really hoping to carry it on next year, and as long as our kids believe. Once the magic disappears, obviously, so will Santa's daily mail!

9.       It’s Christmas morning … what does it look like outside where you live?

Don't get excited -- its usually brown grass, maybe covered in a little frost if we are lucky. North Carolina is one of those places, at least in our area, where its not lush and green ... but its not blanketed in white snow, either. I still have a hard time adjusting to life here in the country, when I came {originally} from the land of snow for Christmas!

10.   You just found yourself standing under the mistletoe … who comes up to give you a kiss first?

Honestly, probably my son! My husband, like I said, tends to be a scrooge -- so unless hanging it was his idea and he was trying to trick me, he wouldn't be near it! {And thats okay -- I don't need mistletoe to steal a kiss or two!!} but my kids found our fake mistletoe recently, and after we told them all about it, they think its funny and want to kiss everyone!

And now for my ten tags. Answer these same questions, tag ten friends of your own, and then come back here and leave the link to your post! Thanks Alex!!
