A Liebster award is passed around in the blogging community through bloggers with under 200 followers.
When you get nominated for one, you graciously acknowledge who sent it to you by linking back to them, you answer the 11 questions the blogger came up with for you, and then you nominate 11 other bloggers and send them your 11 questions to answer in return. And the cycle continues…
So the answers to her questions:
1. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably pizza -- the crust! Buttery and bread-y. I'm such a sucker for bread of any kind. And there are so many different toppings. Cheeses. Veggies. Pineapple. Dessert pizzas. Fruit pizzas. All kinds of pizzas. BRING IT ON! {And now I go try to convince my husband we should order Papa Johns for dinner! Thanks Hana!}
2. Where is your favorite place to go (vacationing or just hang out at)?
Back to Maine in the Fall. The cooler weather. The turning leaves. The smells and foods and crispness to the air. That's the one time I honestly miss living there. Fall is so SHORT feeling here in North Carolina.
3. Is your life today what you thought it would be 5 years ago? If not, what did you expect it to be?
Five years ago I was married. If you had said 6 years ago, though?! I'll go based on that. I was a senior in college looking for employment in the hospital research departments. I figured I was going to stay in Bangor, where I was for college, and would enjoy single life, work life, and a short drive to see my family whenever I wanted. Instead, I met M, married him 3 days after meeting him [4 days after graduating college] and moved to NC. Life is better this way!
4. If you could have one "do over" in life, what would it be?
Probably a pretty typical answer to this type of question -- but it would definitely be an ex of mine. I NEVER would have dated him if I could go back. Not only was the relationship ridiculously awful and a stalemate, but it dragged me down in school. I slacked off and completely lost my focus. Never should have happened.
5. What are your top three favorite songs of all time?
Of ALL time?! Geez -- talk about a tough question. Sadly, it took me awhile to think of this -- and after, all I could say was "What was so hard about that?!" They were "DUH!" answers! 1. Zoe Jane by Staind 2. Here without You by 3 Doors Down 3. Going Down in Flames by 3 Doors Down All three are songs that I could listen to on repeat forever -- and the same goes for the rest of those albums!
6. What's one piece of advice you would give your teenaged self?
Don't worry about not having the name brand clothes or shoes. Just be yourself -- in time, everything will catch up and no one will remember what you wore on your feet or how "in style" your outfits were. They're going to remember how you treated them the most.
7. Who is your "go to" person in life for advice and why?
Depends on the kind of advice -- if its regarding something for our family, I usually talk to my husband. For parenting issues with the kids, or "Been there, Done that" advice, I call my mom.
8. What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
I guess you could say marrying someone I only knew [face to face] for three days ... but since that story has been beat to death around these parts ...
We were 11 years old. And thought we were grown. So a group of girlfriends and I were in a hot tub at an overnight birthday party, and decided it was a good idea to run out the neighborhood to the main road and moon and flash people driving by. It was probably 10pm. We seriously could have gotten in so much trouble if a cop had driven by. And so could my friend's Mom -- for lack of supervision, I suppose. Small town life, I guess. We were bored.
9. Who inspires you other than your spouse or family members?
Members of our military! Regardless of WHY they joined, they saw that the cause -- their country -- was something worth fighting for, and putting their life on the line. There's nothing more inspiring than someone who is willing to die for what they believe in!
10. Who is your favorite celebrity?
I don't know that I really have one!
11. What inspires you to blog?
As a Mommy Blogger [99% of the time!], its obvious that my kids are my inspiration. What better way to constantly chronicle this time in their lives; a great place to be able to look back and relive parts of their early childhood.
Again, thanks for the nomination -- it means a lot to know that someone out there reads and enjoys hearing about a part of our daily lives! {And I decided not to tag anyone, since I tagged and asked, etc. a few months ago when I was previously nominated!}
I only knew my husband for a month before flying to Vegas and marrying him! I thought THAT was crazy, but nope...your story trumps mine!!!!
