When the kids were born, we saved some money for them and then started them each a savings account. Our plan was to teach them early about saving their money, and how rewarding the feeling can be to see that money grow over time.
Apparently, whatever we are telling them is sinking is. Because they absolutely love when their Pappy brings over some change for them to have, and helps them put it into their piggy banks.
Maybe by the time they are older they will have saved enough for their first car!
We have jars and jars full of change from emptying our daughter's piggy bank every time it's gotten full! We just haven't gotten around to actually putting it in the bank! It's a great lesson!
