June is Looking Busy

Daddy will officially be retired from the Marine Corps June 29th.

It's been a long time coming! The adjustment period of having him home right now is setting in. We're getting used to always being around each other, while maintaining our sanity, at the same time. We're learning to share things too -- the remote control, the laptop ... and the bed.

I'm enjoying cooking dinner each night -- even if it's something simple like tonight [pork chops, baked potatoes and steamed vegetables] and not something grand by any means. And I love that he's here to see the changes in the Devil Pup, instead of having to hear about them on the phone.

He's in the process of finding a job right now. He applied for a position at the prison last week and is waiting to hear back from them. And he's signed up for the EMT-Basic course at the local community college. Right now, thats what he thinks he would rather do, which is fine in my book. If it makes him happy, I support that.

June is looking to be a busy month for us.

I am throwing a dinner party with a bunch of our friends to celebrate Daddy's retirement on the 4th. He's supposed to be taking a test for the Correctional Officer position in the middle of the month. The online course for his EMT-Basic is slated to run June 7th - August 1st [if I remember correctly]. We're trying to figure out a week to go back to Maine to visit. And we're possibly house-sitting from the 26th through July 3rd [and heading to Myrtle Beach directly following that for the holiday with family at the beach house!].

And Devil Pup will be 7 months old on the 2nd. Wow, how time flies!!

  1. Sounds like it will be a busy month, but that you have a lot of exciting things coming your way. Glad that you are re-learning how to "share". HAHA
